How we work

Methodology

TruthCapsule is an evidence desk, not a hype feed. Every story is rated on where the evidence actually stands — not how exciting the claim is.

The Credibility Spectrum

Verified — Official documents or multiple confirmed sources
Corroborated — Several independent sources agree
Developing — Active story, partial confirmation
Unverified — Single source or unconfirmed claim
Disputed — Contested, contradicted, or debunked

How the score is computed

Live wire stories are scored automatically, weighing outlet reputation — wire services and .gov/.mil sources score highest, aggregators and single-blog reposts score lowest — plus corroboration: the same story appearing across multiple independent outlets raises its score. Pentagon/DoD releases and Congressional documents score near the top of the range because they are primary official records.

The three-part breakdown

Every curated Capsule is split into what we know (confirmed by primary documents or multiple independent outlets), what's claimed (unverified assertions), and what's disputed (points where credible evidence contradicts the claim) — with the actual primary source linked inline.

Where the data comes from

News wires, Reddit r/UFOs, Pentagon/DoD press releases, Congressional documents, arXiv preprints, and NUFORC sighting reports — all live, free, public feeds. No paid data, no LLM-generated "facts."
